Hello Lucas, First off, welcome! Second, I think it's important to call out some of the specifics of services like Game Center, etc. Game Center, with its achievements, badges, scoring, and ranking system are all centrally hosted, i.e. they live on Apple servers. If Mozilla were to get behind an initiative like this, I'm sure it would involve a significant infrastructure investment.
That being said, it would be interesting if a Game Center alternative could integrate/partner with an existing open service that provides this functionality. Who knows, maybe even some of the Open Badges functionality could apply here as well.
