I notice when I was writing about the new WebIDE (YAY!) in my blog at http://firefoxosgaming.blogspot.com/2014/06/news-flash-firefox-has-in-browser-ide.html that if you have WebIDE supply a new Privileged Empty App (YAY for that!) you get on SVG icon and 4 PNG icons.
My question: Do I need the PNG icons any longer if I have one SVG icon? SVG seems like it is supported everywhere and it sure would be nice to create one SVG icon and be done with it. Inkscape makes great art and I make lousy art if it's bitmaps. Can someone tell me the rules of when the SVG icon is to be used? Can it stand alone? Can we just say goodbye to bitmaps? :-) If the answer is yes, I'll write one or more blog posts on how to create SVG icons since I've been working on SVG longer than anyone (well, almost anyone) and I really understand SVG well. I've written several posts on using SVG with Firefox OS programming, but I didn't even know about the fact that it can be used for icons. I know many Linux folks use SVG for icons.... _______________________________________________ dev-b2g mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-b2g
