Jonas, the retail Flames ship with release channel. That's a fine place for many Web app developers and so we're not "forcing" anyone off of the retail channel. Having said that, we're going to "encourage" as hard as we can.

There will be approximately 8000 Flames in the wild when all sales are done and all deployments to Mozillians are complete. It's my hope to get several thousand of them on the nightly channel as soon as is reasonable and I'd like to start measuring today to understand the progress against that goal.

To grow that number from (my wild ass guess) about 1000 nightly users to several thousand, we will first work on improving the "flashing to the nightly channel" process. If that alone doesn't get us the nightly numbers we need, we can start offering incentives and program participation opportunities that require nightly channel. (For example, I've got 500 more Flames I'd like to give to Mozillians who will commit to running nightly, keeping it up to date and reporting bugs.)

For me to have any confidence I'm making progress, I need to be able to see how many people are running the latest nightly builds. I need channel ADIs for Flame, basically.

I'd like to track how many of these have moved to the nightly channel and
work to grow that number.

Where can I see the daily plot of Flame users?
