I believe the class of applications I'm primarily considering doesn't match any 
but the Other category.  Here there are several problems including lack of 
security hardware standards, the resources are running under external parties' 
policies and quite different privacy considerations.

I started with the idea of making trusted web apps but it won't scale and in 
the end only become a burden.  I'm currently experimenting with Chrome Native 
Messaging to verify if my added requirements make sense.
