Hello All, As we dig into potential designs for upcoming Firefox OS features, we are trying to validate some assumptions. A series of those assumptions relate to common mobile use cases for different user segments. The market data on this area is pretty slim, so we could use your help.
*Mobile Use Case Survey* This is a relatively short survey asking about how you (or someone you know) use your/their phone. We are looking for users in different segments (not just Mozillians), so *if you know people who are in a less tech-savvy segment, please send it to them or fill it out on their behalf *while asking them the questions. Again, it would be wonderful if you could get someone you know in a less tech-savvy segment to do this. *Instructions:* - Create an etherpad/file or somewhere to record your notes in (even hand written is fine) - *For a 24 hour period, every time that you pick up your phone, no matter how short the interaction, record EXACTLY what you did* - Examples: - You turned on the screen just to check the time on the lockscreen - You wanted to find a local restaurant for lunch, so you found the Google Maps app on your homescreen, launched it, searched for "restaurants" and clicked through a few with good reviews until you found one you liked. Then you used the navigation feature to walk to it - You had 5 minutes to kill so you launched the FlipBoard app, and flipped through posts about mountain biking - Make note of anything that may be relevant about your situation which may affect how you use your phone (eg. if you work from home) - [OPTIONAL] Include your age, what country you live in and an email address for follow-up questions - Identify which of these user segments <http://www.experian.com/blogs/marketing-forward/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Always-on-segmentation.jpg> you fall into - Once you've captured approximately a day's worth of phone use, please send me your notes ([email protected]) Thanks in advance, Peter Dolanjski
