I completely agree with this. > The two critical areas I know of are in Geolocation and RIL. For > Geolocation I opened bug 1107539, [1] but didn't have time to work > on it. Funny you mention geolocation, I'm about to get going on bug 1097229 [1] which will refactor geolocation and end the privacy panel saga (I hope). > For RIL, there are ideas to keep some of Gecko's internal > interfaces stable, so that vendor binaries continue to work with > newer versions of Gecko. I don't know what the status here is. Frankly I'm surprised this abstraction doesn't already exist. I think the RIL interface should be moved out to its own daemon so that we can encapsulate all of the code for the different RIL APIs/versions in there and present a stable interface to Gecko. - --dave [1] https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1097229#c2 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJVEwazAAoJEJ7v31qiCP4ghvAP/jsYlg9pDO5XSUq8qx6h7k1l c3j2j2MoI062IFN+H9A592Jw7lv/KoRCgxDonLna09V7NhaVgftsYMemgIXs+Ckr 2ZUC3eI2p8NCLSeZU+CIOh8KDmoowDRBwHJUduOBjb6M0+LORi/4Gyw2A0GNuTeQ Eh19bplqasoIXVA5XmCYwDMMEtdFz1kgSTPJ8g5Cy6OXGaTy4wyBSPEBt6eFh4Hd M2PrYhld/Z/DCr+eRlDAQV5c7aLhOXYHGaMa7fHHJ4zZH0YkLuX2kNfA8kUkf3ZE JNpIWSWgkNTQrzeFcUW+gw2SX+Je9JhUe5T1/iQ7s8qPOg0/Bz1K4f5j5W+D4wUo B9AGJyTGfjq/+bZ+vSHCFZAqnHe0OHHo7vjAm7eF5ZelUzVbIKo6opTnJELRYY+p b4t1Awx51dIPoaaeaTwXAVzhJ908As+wJCFmvIB0DJHoQcQkPT4LVVSKVpjjxCiB knDqXQucqpUCi8lv5D9cvFafx30FM/4HrYPHYg9gbr20Tc05tQ99noCdCIspvI4X TGbhqhYNqCZDieLsQhnoywpVWDfRF3PuhdyXlcd5CI81jqPziBnv6YvYhg8fmaQM jwJ83yErNaZbNXC6rcezTDa+W/1tBXskdtBLKDdBaLYKMn8ZqWpHUuIkXMYuEaYu 648HbSXwYor0NSZrnBYd =7wuo -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ dev-b2g mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-b2g
