Hi, everyone, I would like to share with you the current engineering status of Firefox OS 2.2. On February 23rd, we reached the feature landing milestone which means the feature implementation of Firefox OS 2.2 was done, and we are stabilizing 2.2 now.
Currently, we are still improving the quality of 2.2. These are the metrics for feature complete milestone : https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/FirefoxOS/Release_Milestones#FEATURE_COMPLETE_.28FC.29. The testing results of Firefox OS 2.2 with Flame KK are: 1. Full test (4 weeks in March) - Full Regression/V2.2 Flame-KK Moztrap result <http://mzl.la/1wtR60Y> - 56 fail <https://moztrap.mozilla.org/results/cases/?&pagenumber=1&pagesize=100&sortfield=created_on&sortdirection=desc&filter-resultstatus=failed&filter-run=6551>, 3996 pass, 100% complete, bug rate 1.4%. - RTL/V2.2 Flame-KK Moztrap result <https://moztrap.mozilla.org/results/runs/?&pagenumber=1&pagesize=20&sortfield=start&sortdirection=desc&filter-status=active&filter-name=rtl+full+test> - 76 fail <https://moztrap.mozilla.org/results/cases/?&pagenumber=1&pagesize=100&sortfield=created_on&sortdirection=desc&filter-resultstatus=failed&filter-run=6626>, 326 pass. 2. Exploratory 207 bugs <http://mzl.la/1GLLD8A> 3. Smoke-test - No bug found blocking manual or automation smoke-tests but we have couple automation script bugs need to investigate. 4. MTBF - flame-kk: [avg: 27.7 hours] The testing results of Firefox OS 2.2 with Nexus 5 L are: 1. Partial Regression/V2.2 Nexus-5-L (3 weeks in March) - Moztrap result <http://mzl.la/1EXfMQQ> - 30 fail <https://moztrap.mozilla.org/results/cases/?&pagenumber=1&pagesize=100&sortfield=created_on&sortdirection=desc&filter-resultstatus=failed&filter-run=6552>, 1216 pass, 100% complet, bug rate 1.9% - Bug list <http://mzl.la/18T1AMy> 2. Smoke-test - an OTA bug breaking smoke-test https://bugzil.la/1139331 3. MTBF - Nexus-5-L: [avg: 25 hours] Thanks for all teams to devote all ourselves in this version and improve whatever we can. FxOS 2.2 will be based on Android 5.1 which came out recently, hence we have to make changes to support. Here is the updated schedule: - *04/13 ~ 04/14: *QAs start to do testing before full run. - *04/15 ~ 04/28:* Android 5.1 full run testing. - *04/29:* feature complete milestone. The code complete milestone may be moved from May 18th to June 8th which is 3 weeks later. We will try our best to retain original code complete date(May 18th), but depending on the quality of builds and number of blockers remaining for 2.2 and to accomodate bug fixes beyond the late feature complete we may use the three weeks push for this milestone. Please reach us if you have any further questions. Thank you. -- Kevin Hu Director, Engineering Project Management and Release Management, Firefox OS Mozilla Corporation
