Dear Hans, Returning to this after a couple of months: we now seem to be on track to get the Markdown package working with ConTeXt LMTX [1] and introducing ConTeXt Standalone into our continuous integration process.

[...] As you noted, loading `expl3-generic.tex` in ConTeXt introduces a significant delay on each run. To mitigate this, I'm considering including the file in the ConTeXt format files -- at least within our Docker images for starters. Is there any documentation (beyond the source code) on how to do this properly, or should I just go ahead and bring up any questions here as they arise?
