Try running it from $objdir/dist/bin straightly , dist/Embed stuff
might be broken ...

Thank you for clarifying this - I'm just coming to grips with this
mozilla codebase, and hadn't realized that xulrunner was another
flavor. I tried following your advice, but still ended up getting
stuck.

I downloaded the release

 xulrunner-1.8.0.4.en-US.linux-i686.tar.gz

unpacked it, configured with

 ../srcdir/configure --prefix=/scr/mbritton/local
--libdir=/scr/mbritton/local/lib
--includedir=/scr/mbritton/local/include
--with-gtk-prefix=/scr/mbritton/local
--with-gtk-exec-prefix=/scr/mbritton/local
--enable-application=xulrunner --enable-default-toolkit=gtk2

and made and installed the distribution.

I then cd'd to /scr/mbritton/local/src/mozilla/objdir/embedding/config
and
did a make

Finally, I cd'd to /scr/mbritton/local/src/mozilla/objdir/dist/Embed
and did

./run-mozilla.sh ./TestGtkEmbed

The output was as follows:

new_gtk_browser
        menu bar
        tool bar
        location bar
        status bar
./run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 9843 Segmentation fault "$prog"
${1+"$@"}

Do you have any suggestion as to where the segfault occurs?

Many thanks
Matthew
