You need to be running against debug versions of the mozilla libraries
to make progress here, of course...
Yes, I have compiled xulrunner myself, using:
ac_add_options --disable-javaxpcom
ac_add_options --enable-debug
ac_add_options --disable-optimize
ac_add_options --enable-logrefcnt
