The Qt widget backend is actively being worked on.  There are no plans to ship 
a XR or Firefox desktop build using Qt.

You could produce XR builds without too much trouble, but you would maintain 
them.  Check out bug 451129 which we asked moco+build+release to produce linux 
firefox Qt builds.
