Right now it's web content that triggers the download of an APK from the APK service. Then there's about:apps, which is chrome content. Apps are a privileged part of the Fennec manifest. I have no idea what the roadmap is. I'm bringing very much an Android perspective to this -- in a sense, it doesn't matter how Marketplace is implemented. As a user, I don't give one fig.
