Hi All,

Today we had out weekly FxA demo session, which you can find the video
of here:

  https://vreplay.mozilla.com/replay/showRecordDetails.html?recId=3926

As usual it was jam-packed with goodies, including:

* Vlad shows us is work on automated end-to-end tests of FxA and Sync,
which will run daily against Nightly to ensure we don't regress any
behavior in the browser. This was blocked on bugs in the automation
tooling for a long time so it's great to see it coming together:

     https://github.com/mozilla-services/fxa-testing-e2e

* Vlad also showed us a fix for reporting WebChannel error messages.
Prior to this fix, any errors in WebChannel communication between
web content and the browser, would disappear into the void and leave
users with a less-than-helpful "Working..." message.

* I have a quick demo of how to ssh into our metrics box and run
queries directly against the database, in case you find that re:dash
cramps your style for quick exploratory queries.

* Vijay showed us the graphs for the "ip profling" feature, which hit
production last week. This feature lets user skip the sign-in
confirmation email if they're logging in from an IP that they already
used in the last 24 hours, and initial results show it increasing the
sync signing success rate to almost 60%!

* Shane showed us his fix for some nasty bugs we uncovered recently
around email capitalization. With this fix in place, users will no
longer get stuck in the sign-in unblock flow if they don't remember
exactly how they capitalized their email address when signing up.

See you next time!

   Cheers,

     Ryan
