In the next chapter of the ADB Helper saga, :ochameau pointed out to me that the Windows and Linux versions of the latest ADB Helper update (0.8.2) aren't signed.
If you have trouble on those platforms, check about:addons to see if the add-on was blocked. It appears this was caused by an AMO bug during signing. I'm hoping to release another version soon, and I'll verify they are signed for all platforms.
