Hi All,

Sharing with wider audience; In latest Gecko, with enabling of downscale
during decode [1], gecko decodes image at predicted size. However the old
way of non downscale during decode is still in latest gecko and it decodes
images at intrinsic sizes.
With both ways being enabled at the moment, what that means is gecko is
generating two image sizes and apps such as gallery [2] , music, video that
heavily relies on images will see memory regression.

With landing of Bug 1207355, gecko will stop using the old way to decode,
helping improve memory numbers.

Thanks
Punam
