Just install from source - there might be PATH trickery to get npm 2 to
be the default.

Thank you for the quick response, this unblocked me from more than an hour of fruitless attempts !

I have cloned the npm git repo and could successfully build and use npm2.0 that way. Using 'make link' after the npm build linked my system wide npm to the newly built one. I could then successfully do a 'make mulet' and run a simulation.

I have updated the MDN page[1] with that information, hopefully this will allow others to go forward quicker.
