Chris Jones and I created the Firefox OS module along with the Firefox OS code base in 2011 as we got the project off the ground. It was pretty natural for us to be the module owners since we started the project. Firefox OS is now all grown up, and much has changed since then. While FFOS still means just as much to us as it did 4 years ago, both of us have moved on to a new project that requires our full attention. As a result, its difficult for us to be the effective and focused module owners FFOS deserves.
In consultation with Faramarz we propose to transition module ownership for the FFOS root module to Fabrice Desré, who has been one of the longest term contributors to FFOS. Fabrice possesses the necessary experience, talent and dedication to make a great module owner for FFOS. Congrats Fabrice! Chris and I want to continue to be involved and Mitchell has created a new "module owner emeritus" status for former module owners who want to continue to contribute, albeit in a more advisory role.
