Hi,

Kernel repo for Flame device (and probably others) has changed from Code Aurora
(caf) [1] to mozilla-b2g (b2g) [2]. If I understand it correctly, b2g repo was
forked from caf one. But looking at the branches/tags, they're different
between caf and b2g. How is it possible?

Then, what the "3.4" in some b2g's branches (such as t2m-flame-3.4-jb,
t2m-flame-3.4-kk, zte-openc_eu-3.4-jb, ...) stands for? Android/Linux kernel
version? How is it then that Jelly Bean (jb) and Kit Kat (kk)-based devices
share the same 3.4 kernel (if it truly stands for kernel version)? I thought
that jb-based devices were running kernel 3.4 vs. 3.10 for kk-based devices.

Last, caf repo has b2g_msm-3.4 and b2g_kk_3.5 branches. If I remember
correctly, when kernel repo for Flame device was switched, branch was also
changed from b2g_kk_3.5 to t2m-flame-3.4-kk, thus "downgrading" something from
3.5 to 3.4. Was this expected? Furthermore, before this switch, why wasn't
Flame device pointing to b2g_msm-3.4 rather than b2g_kk_3.5 branch? BTW,
Makefile in b2g_kk_3.5 branch reveals that it's still based on kernel 3.4
"Saber-toothed Squirrel" despite the "3.5" in the name...

Explanations greatly appreciated ;-)

Thanks,

     Émeric
