Hello Vikram,

in the download section of the oxidforge.org (sorry no link, I am offline right
now) we provide a lean and lenk Vmware appliance as a webserver for a
development environment (500MB).

After we updated the tool with a samba server, you will find a perfect
environment for development there.

Hava nice week end!
Marco

P.S.: Thanks for the SEO article btw. Great stuff! :-)

Betreff: [oxid-dev-general] Tips for OXID development

Hi all,

I'm preparing to write another developer-focused article for OXIDforge.
This will suggest some tips and tricks for developers who are coding custom
modules for OXID CE.

I would really like to have this article "community driven". So if you have any
tips to share, please email them to the list and I'll add them to the article
(with appropriate credit of course :)

Some topics to get you started:

- Your favourite IDE to use for OXID development
- Your favourite testing tools
- Special OXID config variables for debugging (I already know about the ones in
config.inc :)
- Useful resources or APIs
- Any tricks to "look inside" a running OXID shop and inspecting variables etc
- Optimization suggestions
- Any other tools useful in setting up an OXID dev environment

I look forward to reading your ideas. Thanks.

Vikram
