I forgot the reason for my mail. There is a romour, that the backend will be refactored. So it save a lot of time for developing (*1) and gives a better userexperiance if you can edit all languages in one step to use only utf8 and send iso to stone age.
... and I don't know a good converter only this >http://php.net/manual/en/function.utf8-encode.php >utf8_encode — Encodes an ISO-8859-1 string to UTF-8 So, if you use a exotic encoding (not 8859), youll have problems with the actual solution. (*1) ...for third party developers, too Regards, Markus Am Wednesday 26 May 2010 11:16:07 schrieb dasGollum: > Hi all, > > why Oxid supports ISO? > > Yes I know, that in the install-tool is a info about performace with UTF8. > > ...but is so much? > ...comes the performace-problems eg. from converting iso to utf8? > > > For me UTF8 is better. > - Much more easy to handle. > - You can edit eg. a article-description in all languages in the same time. > > > Regards, > Markus > _______________________________________________ > dev-general mailing list > [email protected] > http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.php.oxid.general _______________________________________________ dev-general mailing list [email protected] http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.php.oxid.general
