Dear Markus,
i have similar problems for showing content on category list and so on.
So i am still developing an advertise module with smarty plugin to show
content on category lists and/or on the top of an category.
To control how and when the content(s) are shown can be defined in a
parameter field in the advertise content.
e.g to show contents in the category list on the top and only at the
first Navigation Page i use following params:
page=first list=first show=before
To show content on the end of the list:
page=first list=last show=after
The show param let you define at which order the advertise content is
shown. Before or after the list content.
The page and list param let you define at which position in the list
and/or page (navigation) the advertise content will be shown.
Things like first,last,middle,even,odd,0-9 or list like 0,2,3 are possible.
In the template i use a smarty block to show the page/list content and
the advertise content:
[{foreach form=$list name=name item=product}]|////|/||/
[{vdadvertise type=list listNr=$this->smarty.foreach.name.index
listCnt=$this->smarty.foreach.name.total cache=true order=next }]
<div class="advertise cat">$oAdvContent->getContent()</div>

....list content....
[{/vdadvertise}]
[{/foreach}]
or for page
[{vdadvertise type=page cache=true order=next replace=true }]
<div class="advertise cat">[{$oAdvContent->getContent()}]</div>
[{vdadvertise_default}]
....page content....
[{/vdadvertise}]
The order param allows you the choose which content will be used, if
more than one advertise is available. Next means that all content will
be iterated for each request.
Things like random or first are possible. The replace param allows you
the fully replace the default content(if a advertise content is found)
and only shows the advertise.
Caching use the oxcache to cache advertise contents.
At moment I'm developing filter for categories,article and so on.
Also Active,ActivFrom,ActiveTo and ActiveCron filter are in work.
Specially ActiveCron(Crontab like) to show different contents in e.g
morning(B2B) and evening(B2C) or work day or weekend.
Things for vendor and manufacturer are not planed at the moment. May be
possible after more feedback.
