Hi list,

it's probably safe to say that we all have had problems with using the
db access framework of the OXID shop.

A few typical examples are:
- fields are not read from the db
- fields are not written to the db
- typos are hard to find and even the best IDE can't help you

Now I had the misfortune to encounter this little gem:
https://bugs.oxid-esales.com/view.php?id=4930

So, dear OXID developers, when will you finally drop your clumsy db
access framework and replace it with a real framework?

To clarify, I'm only talking about methods from oxBase like "magic
getter" for <coretable>__<fieldname>, assign, selectString and similar
stuff.
E.g. it would be really nice if $user->fname would give me the user's
first name and $user->country would give me a fully loaded oxCountry
object.

regards
Gernot
