Error on activation: single-valued property with no value

Hi,
We upgraded from Magnolia 3.6.3 to 3.6.8 on 14/06/2010 for De Vere Hotels and
recently on a few occasions we've had reports from the client to say when they
are activating new or old sections/pages the following error appears in 'Inbox'
preventing them from being published:
Can't activate: : 2 errors detected: Message received from subscriber:
/offers[3]/MetaData/jcr:isCheckedOut: single-valued property with no value on
devere-web02 Message received from subscriber:
/offers[3]/MetaData/jcr:isCheckedOut: single-valued property with no value on
devere-web01
This has happened a few times and each time I have exported the section/page as
xml, imported it the same xml into the same place and published which seems to
fix the problem.
I would appreciate it if someone can take a look into this.
