Forum and commenting issues
---------------------------

                 Key: MGNLFORUM-158
                 URL: http://jira.magnolia-cms.com/browse/MGNLFORUM-158
             Project: Magnolia Forum Module
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: Public
    Affects Versions: 1.0
         Environment: Magnolia 4.1EE
            Reporter: Frank Sattler
            Assignee: Grégory Joseph
            Priority: Major

Hi,

a bit of background info first: We are currently running Magnolia EE 4.1, forum
module 1.0, and commenting module 1.0. All of our templates are implemented as
JSPs.

I have successfully managed to get both (enterprise-level) commenting and
forums to work, now I would like to customize the the look and feel of the
paragraphs involved, but I seem to be unable to overwrite the configuration to
make Magnolia use a Freemarker template I have created (located in the
JSP/includes directory).

Is it possible to overwite a template, paragraph or other resource (such as a
CSS or JS file) that is included in a JAR file, and how would I do it? The
template path values in the stk and templating branches of the config don't
seem to do the trick...

Unrelated to this, I am experiencing some other issues, but I'm not sure if
these should be classed as bugs.

Requirements to reproduce:
The requirements are identical for all issues described below. You will need
working forums that allow you to post to the page comments, also a page with
already one or more page comments added to them. Moderation should be switched
off.

Issue 1:
Page comments that have been posted to a page via the forums will always be
listed as made by user 'Anonymous', even if a name has been given.

To reproduce:
1. Enter the forums page (forum view -> "Page coments" -> page name). Post a
page comment in the forum. You will notice that the form asks for a name, but
not an email adress or a web site. Also note that all fields seem to be
mandatory, but not marked as such.
2. Now go to the page on which you just commented. You will see your comment at
the bottom of the comments.
Result:
Regardless of the name provided, on the comments page the comment will have
been listed as 'Anonymous'.

Why is that, and how can we fix it?

Issue 2:
Page comments have 'Message', 'Name', and 'Email' fields listed as mandatory,
but the comment can be posted even when one or more of those fields are not
completed.

To reproduce:
1. Go to a page on which commenting has been enabled. Enter a message, and
leave all other fields blank.
2. Post the comment.
Result:
The form is submitted, the comment is posted with the user name set to
'Anonymous' if not provided.

How can we enforce validation of the mandatory fields?

Issue 3:
Gravatar support does not work in page commenting module.

To reproduce:
1. Go to a page on which commenting is enabled. Enter a comment, ensuring that
an email address is given for which a Gravatar lookup will be successful.
2. Post the comment.
Result:
The comment is posted, but the avatar that is shown is the default 'cut-out'
avatar image for anonymous users.
