Update these items:
controls is replaced with fieldTypes in M5. Field types defines any custom fields your app introduces that don't come out of the box.
See if you can write the purpose yourself.

rendererType is replaced with renderers.
You can find examples in the templating and standard-templating-kit modules.
pages are only configured for legacy purposes, a leftover from 4.5.
I would remove this item but please check with Espen first.
Note that these are different from the pages configured in /<module name>/templates/pages.

apps. App configuration, the app descriptor in particular.
messageViews. Message views are not documented anywhere. Add to the list and create a separate ticket to document them.
Message views are used in the Pulse to display messages from the module. You can find an example in the workflow module. Try to publish a page and find the message in the Pulse. If you get the idea how a view works, assign the new ticket to yourself and document message views in the Configuration section.
