I've developed a comprehensive UI design solution, which covers all types of licenses and the status in which they can be in. It: actively warn administrators if the product license is about to expire or has expired. This includes handling a demo license. informs all users as to why certain features and functions all of a sudden disappear or no longer work, once a license has expired. provides all with consistent and clear edition and license information plus explanations in a single, well-defined location. This allows administrators to handle any license purchases and renewals in a timely fashion. The solution does some additional things, but those are a bit outside of the scope of this issue. Additionally, it ties in with some future plans: to allow the About app to show the problems directly on the icon and in the header to collect all such issues affecting a setup in a single location (in a tab in Pulse). Those extensions are designed, but not documented yet.
