Christoph Meier updated an issue   Documentation / DOCU-653 Markdown macro for remote resources Change By: Christoph Meier Create a macro which can display [Markdown|https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown] text. The markdown markup should be transformed into "typical (confluence) html" by the macro. There is a 3rd-party provided [markdown macro for confluence|https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.plugins.confluence.markdown.confluence-markdown-macro/server/overview] - however, it can only render text saved directly on confluence. The macro is using [pegdown|https://github.com/sirthias/pegdown]; see source code of the [macro class|https://bitbucket.org/atlassianlabs/markdown-macro-for-confluence/src/ed36d3ed45c6bd1bedbe2d833e19fe121d27e39f/src/main/java/com/atlassian/plugins/confluence/markdown/MarkdownMacro.java?at=master&fileviewer=file-view-default] at [atlassianlabs-bitbucket|https://bitbucket.org/atlassianlabs/markdown-macro-for-confluence/src/bed352856f33734c6d321bc6f0643701621dbe14/README.md?at=master&fileviewer=file-view-default]. It would be desirable to display remotely located markdown resources. Create a custom macro  which also uses  using  {{pegdown}} , but make sure it can render remote   to display remotely located markdown  resources.
