TinyMCE is supporting safari, after almost a year waiting for FCK editor to adopt it, maybe we should change the default editor in magnolia, or at least easily propose the integration of the latter.
The test compares only features and is therefore not so much helpful. But I agree that the lack of supporting safari is an important one. But reading on the there homage that the safari support is only experimental I would not change now.
It is a lot of work to integrate an editor properly (upload images, browse pages for the link selection, ...)
And I must say that I like how FCKEditor is implemented, or at least I understand it.
If someone likes to support it, he can write a module.
