versioning for expressions is not necessary (allowing it requires lots
of space).
Versioning for workitems would only make sense in some 'group inbox'
scenarii, where a workitem is manipulated successively by the users of
the group before being sent back to the engine.

Versioning for expressions could also make sense if we had a
JCRExpressionStore storing 1 document (1 JCR tree) per process
instance. We could thus rollback a complete process to some tagged
state.
But that doesn't make sense currently (in the short-term). I just
mentioned this as it'll maybe be a direction I'll follow for OpenWFE
[persistence].
