Hi Boris,
Do you have removed those functionnalities for every version of
Magnolia, or is those ones will be available in the Enterprise
edition ?
We will definitely have to work on this again in the scope of the
Enterprise Edition but for now we focus on shipping the Community
Edition.
Does it mean that the workflow functionnality is passing from
Community to Enterprise,
The workflow integration is part of the Community Edition, we have
worked hard on the integration and think the power that comes with it
is outstanding.
Of course we will add more workflow features for the Enterprise
Edition, possibly in a different form than what was available before,
because we see that this is an important feature for enterprise usage.
or will you work back on it after 3.0 final published ?
No decisions yet from our side - the tendency is not to for the
moment, we really have other things on our minds.
That's why, the "upload workflow" was a good function.
It sure was, but it was unfinished in many respects. I'd rather
ship a 3.0 final with limited workflow than ship nothing. There
are always updates later on...
What was the main problem exactly to remove that function ? Could
we help ?
I assume that what we ship as final is somewhat finished and will be
around for a while. The upload was a hack, and should not be shipped.
And yes, you can always help.
Cheers
Boris
There's another problem that concerns my developments, it's the new
version limitation to one version only.
What was the problem to reduce the function ?
We don't think that its necessary for the intended use case of the
community edition to support more than an "undo" (which by the way
doesn't work at the moment... we'll need to fix it).
Is there an easy mean to support more than one version of a
document again ?
Not planned at the moment except for the Enterprise Edition.
Regards
Boris
