following the discussions about module dependencies I ask myself why the DMS
module was moved to community.

We tend to keep only the real necessary core modules in magnolia/ trunk and move any optional module to the modules section (other candidates are workflow, mail).

The main intention is to uncouple the dev cycles of the main system and the modules.

IMHO DMS is a "core" module. Was it moved

It is still part of the default community build

because there is or will be a feature richer DMS module for EE?

No, it is in the community section (not in the enterprise one) because it belongs to the free magnolia modules. There is no enterprise version.

Not sure yet, but the also independent advances search module will be part of the EE only. This modules extends the dms module in that domain. But this has nothing to do with the movement away from the core system.
