Philipp Bracher commented on MAGNOLIA-1470:
-------------------------------------------

This dialog property is not completely ignored, but used to register the
referenced dialog under the name of the paragraph. This is ugly and needs
changing but if you reference an other dialog (not having the same name as the
paragraph) it works fine.

> Paragraphs can't reuse dialogs

> If one creates a paragraph with a dialog property refering to an existing
> dialog, it just does not work.
> Upon dialog selection, Magnolia will complain that a dialog with name a
> <paragraph-name> does not exist. It just ignores the dialog property of the
> paragraph. ParagraphSelectDialog can easily be fixed for this, but then the
> edit functionality as the exact same issue. (See attached patch)
> This is also partly related to the fact that upon dialog registering,
> Magnolia checks if the dialog is used by a paragraph, and if so re-registers
> the dialog with the paragraph name
> (DialogHandlerManager.registerAsParagraphDialog())
