This error also occurs when calling the download servlet from DMS module. Because my trunk is customized with my patches for custom node types and multi value properties (and more - the whole stuff from Jira) I decided to compare the behaviour with a clean checkout of trunk from svn: trying to open "Documents" from menu ends with 500 caused by NPE, Tools -> Accesses: FreeMarker template error. Creating a new page and opening it results in 404. Something servlet/filter related broke within the last days. I don't know what it is yet. The FreeMarker error could be a different story.
