The warning you get there is related to MAGNOLIA-1304 and has no impact on the 
workflow.

If your inbox stays empty, it is just very likely that you're not a member of 
the group or role to which the workflow is assigned. (the default workflow's 
first expression is:
    <participant ref="group-publisher"/>
Are you logged in as a member of the publisher group ?
