About plugins: - we would need that for links, images, files - I don't wan't to copy the setting dialogs for those - I don't like to touch FCKEditor --> can be that I'm wrong and you can plug in in an easier way, but if plugin means having a custom button rebuilding all the functionality, I'm against it. About parsing: - is generic and allows a transformation of any html snippets - the html code in the editor is clean (you see the image, you can click, ...)
