Does this mean that 3.1 (or 3.5) will not have capability of
clustering of authoring instances?
In short, yes.
The reason: We will have to handle the IllegalItemStateExceptions in
a cross instance manner. This involves more development time than
left till the 15th of November.
I prefer to stabilize what we have and to finish the update
mechanism. The followup version (4.0) is definitely targeting the
clustering. Currently there are not that many changes planed for 4.0
related to the magnolia core. So a release should be ready pretty
soon. Internaly we are currently talking about the end of February.
