I have just committed a few small fixes to trunk that I would like to
port also to the 3.5 branch before the 3.5.5 release.

Note that we plan to release on Thursday. OK?

I would like to introduce the use of svnmerge [1] for making those
things easier.
Looks like being a nice tool to use. When ever I do small bug-fixed I experience it as very annoying to apply them separately on the branch.

As the tool works somehow passively by adding metadata only, I can't see much harm. But isn't the tool only useful if you merge back (form head to branch) the bigger part of the revisions. In my experience this is not the case. Most changes committed to 3.6 won't go back to 3.5. We would then end up by blocking revisions all the time and would probably forget blocking them once a while.

Since Greg is the master of disaster for our svn we will wait for his opinion. He will be back tomorrow.

Cheers

Philipp Bracher
