I'm writing a custom client for the company I work for, in Perl, using
the OpenSRS.pm module. (We have different customer requirements from
the various CGI stuff that comes in the OpenSRS tarball from OpenSRS, so
I get to re-implement a buncha stuff.)

So far so good, but it seems like the OpenSRS server %response contains
the domain currently logged in as "$response{domain}" or
"$response{reg_domain}" on alternating days. I've found that the
documented specs vary from the values actually returned in other places
as well.

Are there any "third parties" trying to fully document the OpenSRS
client protocol via "send command, see what the server responds with"
method?

Or am I just on crack and nobody else is seeing this kind of behaviour?
