...double-swiped. Apropros http://www.domainalchemy.com/transfer.htm

So anyway, back to the dev thing. Is there any chance there might ever be a
way of more closely monitoring transfers? I have a few that a customer sent
through; he put 3 names in to transfer-
xxx.com, xxx.net, and anothername.com . Xxx.com sailed through without
issue. Said customer says he has received no URL from OpenSRS for either of
the other two. Whois confirms that all contact info is identical for all
three.

I e-mailed [EMAIL PROTECTED] and got a response that said (quoted in
entirety) "did he attempt a batch transfer". <...> Uh, no...., for whatever
reason, he did them one at a time.

And I haven't heard anything else.

This customer asked me late yesterday afternoon; I replied to the one
sentence response from [EMAIL PROTECTED] and now another day will pass
before I can respond with any authority to my client. Question asked Monday,
response.....maybe Wednesday?

I prefer to maximize the disparity in perceived service 'twixt NSI and
ourselves. I'd like to be able to observe the transfer process and tell my
clients what's happening...

Does that make sense? I don't know what potentialities exist, but I'd like
to be able to do better than "<shrug>" .

[ Not on Domain-policy either so I continue to post here ]

It is definitely against ICANN regs.

Ref: http://www.icann.org/nsi/icann-raa-28sept99.htm

II.D.2.ii. prohibitions on warehousing of or speculation in domain names
           by registrars;

And

II.J.5. Registrar shall register SLDs to SLD holders only for fixed periods.
At the conclusion of the registration period, failure by or on
behalf of the SLD holder to pay a renewal fee within the time
specified in a second notice or reminder shall, in the absence of
extenuating circumstances, result in cancellation of the
registration. In the event that ICANN adopts a policy concerning
procedures for handling expiration of registrations, Registrar shall
        abide by that policy.
