Let me amend what I said about my current RSP being "useless" at transfers.
All of my current transfers have moved through smoothly enough, once the RSP
in question bothered to submit the transfer request to OpenSRS. They do not
offer transfers via the web interface that I have access too, and upon
phoning, most of the reps I talked to thought I was transferring to them for
hosting, they couldn't understand the concept of changing registrars.
Once I finally got through to someone that understood transferring domains
between registrars, vs. changing name servers for the sake of hosting, it
was great. Then, next domain I attempted to transfer had exactly the same
issues, and the original contact wasn't there anymore, or was on vacation,
or something. There were also some username/password issues for the domain
that they transferred, which were eventually resolved.
I understand the complexities of transferring domains between registrars,
especially when NetSol is involved, and I'm willing to deal with that.
However, if, after claiming it will be dealt with, the RSP doesn't even
submit the request, then I feel justified in directing my frustrations
towards the RSP. As a result, I am seeking another.
