Whois access denied

I copied and customised the opensrs whois form from
http://www.opensrs.org/whois/index.shtml onto my web site.

When a lookup is performed I get a message "Access Denied".

How is everyone else doing an Opensrs whois - other than via the whois that
is included in the scripts.
