It does add functionality, and I dont see that it breaks things.
My mail program (mutt) allows me to 'g'roup reply (like I'm doing
now) or 'r'eply to the reply-to header ... and it always gives
me the option of reply'ing to the author, regardless of the
reply-to header. I'v not seen any mail program that will easily
allow a reply to the mail-list, when no reply-to header is present.
I know mutt can be programed to recognize a mail list, and reply
to the list when you select reply-to-list ... but most people
dont have the functionality. I simply do not agree with the
statements on that web page, and most people prefer to have the
normal reply function maintain the conversation on the LIST,
not as a private message.

The original complaint was about getting the duplicates,
and it was by a tucows person, as I recall. If he doesnt
want duplicates, then he should get a better MUA, yes.
OR reconfigure the list to use reply-to the list ...
