WHOIS email gateway?

I was wondering if there is a publically available WHOIS email gateway ?

For example, let's say you want to see if minibowl.com is takenn...

You would email [EMAIL PROTECTED]
And you would get back (by email) the result.

Anybody seen such a beast?
