Sorry if I didn't explain it properly, let me try again ;-) This was more or
less meant as a comment anyways, and not directly the answer to your request.
There's and optional email (not optional email address) that will be sent to the
admin contact that was entered in the order.
The email contains the following text:

To :
From: OpenSRS Transfers <{{transfer_email}}>
Reply-To: OpenSRS Transfers <{{transfer_email}}>
Subject: Transfer notification message sent to {{current_admin}}
We have just sent a transfer authorization request for the
domain name
{{domain}}
to the current admin contact at email
{{current_admin}}
If you have control over the email account for the current admin contact,
please check that mailbox for the authorization code and instructions
on confirming or denying this transfer request.

This email will only be sent if the admin order contact is different from the
admin-contact parsed from the loosing registrar.
And yes - if someone checks the status of a transfer and the e-mail
was sent, it would be helpful for him to know where it was sent.
