WebP (animated WebP) would be an improvement over animated GIF. You use it for basic images animation and this is why we don't use Ogg Vorbis as a GIF replacement.
Basic images animation: GIF, APNG, WebP... Video streaming: Ogg Vorbis, WebM, H.264/MP4... Different purposes. > Aren't those much better served with WebM instead of WebP?
