If these encoders/decoders have been around for 10 years without security holes being found, I'll doubt there'll be any reported in the next year. Given that there is less than a week to the next branch and we're already fighting multiple failures due to m-c related bustage, if this isn't any real need to force the removal to occur before the ESR branch,
