Is there a reason why you haven't contributed your fix for that bug to
Firefox? Bugs do sometimes get overlooked, but patches with a review
request are almost always reviewed. It's of course fine to fix a bug in
an addon, especially if you think that your fix is one that Firefox
won't take. At first glance, however, I don't see any reason why Firefox
wouldn't take a fix for that bug.
