In Firefox 116 we plan to prototype FedCM in Nightly only. This is an extension to the Credential Management API to enable privacy preserving third-party authentication.
This feature is a proposed mechanism for removing the reliance on third-party cookie exceptions for authentication use cases. As of now, third party authentication relies upon the Storage Access API with uninformative prompts or heuristics that grant storage access.
