Hi,

As of Firefox 161, I intend to turn on making the `prefers-color-scheme` media query reflect the color scheme a page declares via `<meta name="color-scheme">`.

When printing, the declared scheme is only honored with the `only` keyword, otherwise printing keeps matching `light`, as it does today.

This came up as part of discussions about the web preferences API, see:

https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/14493#issuecomment-6382548874

Bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2085572

Spec: https://drafts.csswg.org/mediaqueries-5/#prefers-color-scheme, https://drafts.csswg.org/css-color-adjust-1/#page-color-scheme

Standards Body: CSSWG.

Platform Coverage: All

Preference: layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.meta-tag.enabled

DevTools Bug: Color scheme simulation is overridden by the metatag (right now it emulates the user choice). If we want to change that that would need a bug, but I think it's fine.

Extensions Bug: N/A

Use Counter: N/A

Standards-Positions Discussion: N/A (minor spec resolution)

Other Browsers:
 * Blink: Not implemented yet
 * WebKit: Not implemented yet

web-platform-tests: Added a bunch in https://wpt.fyi/results/css/css-color-adjust/rendering/dark-color-scheme?q=prefers-color-scheme-meta

Cheers,
