The BR has this in 13.2.2: The CA SHALL maintain an online 24x7 Repository that application software can use to automatically check the current status of all unexpired Certificates issued by the CA. I don't think that scheduled downtime is acceptable. Guaranteeing 100% availability might not be possible, but I think you should aim for that. Answer: We maintain OCSP on line 24x7. But 100% availability of is utopia. Even e- banking systems have their downtimes. We want to be fair to the user, that's why we inform them about possibility of downtime.
